Bri-Mar Manufacturing, one of the country’s leading manufacturers of hydraulic dump trailers, is proud to announce the completed installation of the CPR System® to improve efficiencies in their cleaning and pretreatment line.  With growing concern over proper disposal of the used phosphate pretreatment solution, Bri-Mar found itself searching for a more cost effective and environmentally friendly method of disposing of the wastewater.

Kevin Kelley, President and CEO of Bri-Mar says, “by itself, the cleaning and pretreatment application process is pretty straightforward.  The trick is what to do with the used phosphate solution after it hits the wash bay drain. Historically we had been treating and dumping the water.  After a lot of research, we selected the CPR System for its ability to recycle and reuse the pretreatment solution.  The closed loop recycling process frees us from the limitations and costs imposed by our waste stream permit.  As a result, we will reduce our chemical and water consumption by roughly 70% with nothing going down the drain.”

The key similarities among all the dump trailers include the premium grade Bucher brand hydraulic pump and custom cylinders, which are the most important parts of a dump trailer.  Most of the dump trailer series also feature our PPG powder coat finish.

The key similarities shared among both the LP and LE Series dump trailers include a 10 gauge steel floor, 14 gauge 20″ sides, Bucher power unit, and the custom cylinders.  This means that both series of trailers can do the same amount of work.  Some differences between the LP and LE series include a standard adjustable coupler and drop leg jack instead of an optional adjustable coupler and drop leg jack. Galvanization is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel to prevent corrosion of the underlying steel.  The term is derived from the name of Italian scientist Luigi Galvani.  Galvanization can be done through several processes, but Bri-Mar uses hot-dip galvanizing.  In the hot-dip galvanization process, the steel parts of the dump trailers, equipment trailers, and tilt trailers are submerged in a bath of molten zinc.  The result is a bonded galvanized finish that is silvery metallic in color and very rust resistant.

The galvanized finish serves as a sacrificial anode for the protected steel.  This means that rust agents like road salt and sea water will “target” the zinc before the steel.  As a result the steel underneath is protected.  It also means that if the galvanized finish is scraped or chipped, the remaining zinc will still protect the steel eliminating the need for touch up.

The hot-dipped trailer will have a longer life in areas where rust can diminish the life of a trailer.

Hot-Dip Galvanizing – Dump Trailers, Equipment Trailers, Tilt Trailers

Hot-dip galvanizing is available for the LP, LPHD, and LE series dump trailers, the EH, EH8, and EHLE series equipment trailers, and the T, HT, and HT8 series tilt trailers.  The trailers frames, bodies, wheels, and toolboxes (if applicable) will be galvanized.  The coupler and jacks are not galvanized.

Any trailer that is hot-dip galvanized receives an extended five year warranty on the finish for the trailer.

The option package includes a 5k drop leg jack and adjustable coupler for LE Series dump trailers with gross vehicle weights less than 14,000 lbs.  The LE Series dump trailers with 14,000 lb gross vehicle weight will have a 12k drop leg jack and adjustable coupler in the option package.

The LE Series dump trailers are best known for their durability, versatility, and affordability.  The LE Series dump trailers are available in many different sizes and configurations from 6′ x 10′ to 7′ x 14.  The LE Series dump trailers feature a solid 10 gauge steel floor, sturdy 20″ sides, a premium Bucher brand pump, and custom 4″ cylinders (or telescopic cylinders).  The LE Series dump trailers can be used to haul equipment with the ramp package or haul materials to and from the worksite.  The best part is the LE Series dump trailers include all these features at an affordable price.
